Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, North and South Carolina 2016

A very exciting trip is in store for us this time.  We will be spending a month traveling around Florida before coming to Miami to celebrate Katy and Juan's wedding.  We met up with the Blondins in Fort Pierce and the Haddads on Marco Island for some great times.  Then we met up with Ray and Jane in Venice for more wonderful times.

We then headed further south to visit the Keys and had lots of fun Key hopping.  Truly eye candy all around us.  We also loved seeing the Key deer too.  So precious.  They are one of the world's most endangered animals...only about 700 remain.  They are the smallest version of the white tailed deer.  Key deer are about the size of a small dog and have no fear of humans.

Now it's time to return to the hustle and bustle of Miami and Katy and Juan's amazing wedding.  Three days of fun and partying.

After the wedding we left Florida and decided to journey through the Florida panhandle and into Louisiana.  We wanted to visit true Cajun country so we went to Lafayette, Louisiana.  This was truly bayou country.  It was clear that tourists do not frequent this region.  Not a lot to do in a touristy kind of way...but very interesting nonetheless.

From here we cut east and spent some time in Georgia and the Carolinas just in time to see the spectacular spring blooms.  It was a paradise all around.

In North Carolina we visited Asheville and the gorgeous Biltmore Estate.  We spent a whole day there and had a wonderful time.
